How ContestMyBill.com Works

ContestMyBill.com is a document assistance tool — not a law firm. We read your bill details and generate a professional dispute letter that references the exact law protecting you. The whole process takes under 5 minutes and costs $29 per dispute (free to start).

Step 1 — Upload Your Bill (Optional)

Photograph or upload your bill. Our client-side OCR (built on Tesseract.js) reads the text directly in your browser — your bill is never uploaded to our servers, protecting your privacy. Or skip this step and type in the details manually.

Step 2 — Describe the Issue

Select your bill type (medical, HOA, utility, insurance, credit card, collection notice, subscription, or security deposit) and choose your state. Describe the specific problem: duplicate charge, surprise billing, claim denial, unauthorized fee, or wrongful deduction. This takes under 2 minutes.

Step 3 — Get Your AI Dispute Letter

Our AI generates a complete dispute letter customized to your state and bill type. Every letter references the specific statute that covers your situation — the No Surprises Act, FCBA, FDCPA, ACA internal appeal rights, state PUC regulations, or your state's security deposit law. No template fill-in — every letter is unique.

Step 4 — Send and Track

Download your letter as a PDF and mail it certified to the billing address shown. Or use our email delivery to send it directly. Most billers are legally required to respond in writing within 30–60 days depending on the bill type. Log your outcome in your account so we can track what works.
